For adults interested in a career in construction,  this one-year program will prepare you for immediate placement in a job, union pathway, or for continuing your education in a construction-related degree.  This course is part of the the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) at Chattanooga.

Employers in the construction industry will be working with educators at the Construction Career Center to provide hands-on demonstrations, job site visits, mentorships, and paid work-based learning opportunities.  Our goal is 100% placement for every student going through the program.

The Building Construction Technology Program’s mission is to teach adult and dual-enrolled high school students skills related to the fundamentals of carpentry, construction and residential electrical wiring, construction and residential plumbing, foundation methods, masonry block, and brick laying. In addition, a core craft skills section includes safety, math, tools, rigging, communications, and employability skills. The program includes a study involving work ethics that incorporates proper workplace attendance, character, teamwork, appearance, attitude, productivity, organizational skills, communications, cooperation, and respect.

Full-time day classes are available at the Construction Career Center,  located at 2225 Roanoke Ave Chattanooga, Tennessee.
